The present mixed methods study was set to examine the effect of teaching English online on teachers’ burn out during Pandemic era. It also investigated whether there was any significant difference between male and female EFL teachers regarding the effect of teaching English online on their burn out during Pandemic era. Finally, it explored Iranian EFL teachers’ perceptions on teaching English online during Pandemic era. To this end, ۸۰ EFL teachers (۴۰ female and ۴۰ males), were selected conveniently, ranging from ۳۲ to ۳۵, at three various language centers and universities of Iran, having B.A. and M.A. degrees in TEFL. In order to collect the necessary data Maslach Burnout Inventory and an interview were utilized. The obtained data were analyzed both quantitatively and qualitatively. The findings revealed that there was a significant difference between the teachers’ burnout in online courses was estimated before and after the online classes, and they felt more burnout after the online course. It also indicated that generally there was a significant difference between two groups regarding the effect of teaching English online on their burnout during Pandemic era. That is, female teachers underwent more burnout and fatigue compared to their counterparts. Finally, the results showed that the nature of the online environment, educational responsibilities of teachers in online learning, and inadequate online support were among the influential factors in teaching English online during Pandemic era
