چکیده مقاله:

Introduction: Recent studies on long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) have revealed a new aspect of cancer biology and demonstrated essential roles in human cancer including prostate cancer via oncogene or tumor suppressor molecules. These genes are frequently expressed in several types of cancers, such as prostate cancer. Methods: We describe the lncRNAs that have critical roles in the initiation and development of prostate cancer. Also, using LincSNP ۳.۰ and NCBI database, the molecular mechanisms of the effect of lncRNAs and their single nucleotide polymorphisms, SNPs, on the incidence and progression of prostate cancer have been investigated. Results: Using the online bioinformatics tools, we provided a list of six lncRNAs associated with the risk of prostate cancer, their variations, basic information, including lncRNAs name, variant ID, allele type, genome position, lncRNA size, mechanism of action, and detection method. The lncRNAs POLR۲E, PCAT۱۹, PRNCR۱, PCAT-۱ and their SNPs have fundamental roles in prostate cancer development and progression, whereas, PCGEM۱ and its SNPs, rs۶۴۳۴۵۶۸ and rs۱۶۸۳۴۸۹۸, significantly decreased the incidence risk of prostate cancer. Conclusion: Due to the various roles of lncRNAs in biological processes and their association with prostate cancer, identifying these lncRNAs and their polymorphisms can be used to screen and treat prostate cancer.
