Hope in Shakespeare’s “King Lear” and Ferdowsi’s “Fereydoun’s Story”: A Comparative Study

In literature, despair and hope are two prominent themes having been used in poems following political and social events. In Shakespeare, many of the intellectual concerns of Elizabeth's time can be established. He did not necessarily agree with what had happened in his dramatic teachings but tried to reveal some levels of truth. That is why, with new hope and sympathy in him, his play does not attempt to dazzle the spectator or overshadow his emotions but wishes to create a new vision. Such components are typical of political theatre. In Shakespearean poetry, we could expect love, nature, natural imagery, and things related to how time flies, how life is short and carpe diem.The apparent logic that justifies the two stories' comparison is the joint decision that the two kings make for their land. Following that decision, controversies and events occur that show each of the characters' fate in the story, which is a significant point in the two stories.
