Iranians have used principles in the building’s design to orient their buildings in the past. Orientation is one of these principles. Orientation (Ron) has followed steady rules in the design process. However, the current paper aims at comparing this method with the principles of the orientation of buildings today, and finally to compare the amount of solar energy absorption, the degree of thermal comfort and other information gained by the two methods. The Designer Builder software was used to analyze data obtained from the ASP tower modeling. The results show that if the design of this contemporary building had followed the rules of Orientation (Ron) (used in the architecture of the past), it would have enjoyed advantages such as: reducing energy consumption, increasing the thermal comfort hours, and... According to the researchers, this method could use as a new way for Iranian sustainable architecture. This method is a result of scientific and religious principles.
