Identifying illegal electric power Subscribers to reduce losses (Case study: Electric Power Distribution Company of haharmahal and Bakhtiari province, Iran)

One of the prevalent corruptions made by electric power subscribers is illegal use of electrical energy, which is an important factor in the reduction of revenues and increase of losses for electric power distribution companies. Also, due to the high number of subscribers and their ever-increasing growth from one hand, and the huge amount of their consumption data on the other hand, have made it impossible using conventional methods to identify suspicious subscribers. In this paper, a data mining technique is employed to identify delinquent subscribers. The proposed method includes the implementation of a smart computational tool considering the load profile to reveal abnormal consumption behavior of subscribers.
