چکیده مقاله:
Nowadays, treatment of patellar luxations using current techniques has become the most popular procedures in surgical treatment till now, but there is some confusion about soft tissue procedures in restraining of patella. The purpose of present retrospective clinical study was to determine efficacy of soft tissue and bone reconstruction procedures for various grade of patellar luxation.Forty small and toy- breed dogs have been conducted for this study with various grades of medial patellar luxation. All dogs carried pain on knee manipulation and unilaterally or bilaterally intermittent to constant non-weight bearing lameness. Eleven dogs had bilaterally patellar luxation and twenty nine unilaterally with different grade. Age of dogs was very different between months to years. Soft tissue and bone reconstruction procedures were carried out in all referral dogs. All dogs came back to normal gaiting into three months except two dogs. Re-luxation was occurred in the two dogs who had tolerated patellar reconstruction by soft tissue techniques in grade luxation. These findings suggest that improvement can be made in patella luxation after suitable soft tissue and bone reconstruction procedures and re-luxation limits validity of the use of soft tissue reconstruction procedures in operated dogs with grade luxation. Therefore, for achievement to favorite outcome in dogs with various degrees of patellar luxation, authors suggest to use soft tissue correction and more techniques as bone reconstruction procedures according to severity of luxation and bone and joint structure deformities.
