The Effectiveness of Eye Movement Desensitization and Re-processing in Perceived in Fertility Stress in Infertile Women Referred to Infertility Treatment Centers of Shiraz Medical Sciences Hospitals 2016

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a psychotherapy treatment that was originally designed to alleviate the distress associated with traumatic memories. EMDR is a cognitive and non-pharmacological method, developed by Shapiro based on the adaptive information processing model. In this method, a change occurs in cognitive, affect, and physical responses pertinent to memory. The present study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of sensitization of eye movements and re-processing of perceived stress in women in Shiraz, Iran. The present study was semi-experimental (pre-test, post-test) with control and experimental group. Thirty infertile women were randomly assigned to two experimental and control groups (each group was 15). In order to describe the data, descriptive statistics (such as mean and standard deviation) as well as inferential statistics like multivariate covariance analysis Mancova and t test were used and data were analyzed by SPSS software. The results showed that the effectiveness of the eye sensitization method on perceived stress in infertile women is significantly effective, so effective, so desensitization can be an effective treatment for women s stress in infertility
