Application of Geomembrane Plates in Earth Dams

Over the past half century, the use of artificial materials has progressed in civil engineering projects, such that with the development of durable and reliable synthetic materials and increasing their application in engineering, geo synthetics are used in many construction projects nowadays.Since this paper describes the geo membrane functional approach in earth dams, we will investigate the use of these materials in this field.With the advancement of the petrochemical industry, various geo membrane polymers have also been employed and their use as new materials in water and earth projects has been interested.Selection of geo membranes in the role of clay core alternatives has many causes, such as: the speed of execution, low volume of materials, very low permeability (about zero), high life span, and the elimination of weaknesses in the execution of clay core.
