This study investigates the antecedent and outcome of trustworthiness among employees at multinational companies. Specifically, this paper is analysing the effect of traiisfonnational leadership and the outcome of twstworthiness which is individual performance. Despite tl1e attention received among the researchers to investigate the importance of trustworthiness, little attentions have paid to understand the implications of tnrstworthiness towards individual performance. Pinned by using the social exchange theory, this research framework is tested towards the employees at MNC in Penang. Embarked to quantitative research method, data were collected from 200 employees. Data were then analyse by using AMOS in order to test the hypotheses models. Research found that four of transformational leadership behaviors including providing an appropriate model, high performance expectation, provide individualized support and intellectual stimulation are the predictors to subordinate perception of lcader’s trustworthiness. Subordinates who perceived high level of trustworthiness in their leaders had significantly greater individual performance compared with those whoperceived low level of tmstworthiness in their leaders. This relationship is driven by leadership behaviors signaling benevolence. This study suggests that leader should adapt each transformational behavioral dimension at timely to be perceived as trustworthy and ultimately enhance subordinatc’s performance. This paper also provides a briefdiscussion ofimplication as well as the limitation of the study as the conclusion of the paper.
