A Study on Some Imagery elements in Sa’di’s Tayyebat

Imagery is one of the poetic techniques by which the appearance, importance and value of poems are estimated and is influenced by poet’s experiences and thoughts and his insight into his surroundings. This insight provides the poet with imagery elements. Sa’di, the knight of eloquence and rhetoric, the social and experienced and learned Iranian poet, has composed his Easy but Difficult poems by the use of these elements without imposing any affection on him, the elements with which he has been faced throughout his life and journeys. This article intends to make a survey outwardly on some instances of common and prevalent imagery materials in Sa’di’s ghazals (Tayyebat segment) by descriptive-analysis method. The findings of this research contains a lot of applied elements by Sa’di in the natural, political, social and cultural fields, that even his previous poets have been used them but Sa’di’s merit is that he has employed them so delicately, skillfully and properly that his emotions can be directly inspired to the readers.
