Knowledge and attitudes of dental practitioners of Bandar Abbas, about the use of denture adhesives in patients, 2014

Denture adhesives used to make a better retention in Removable Complete Denture. Denture adhesives are available in three forms: paste, powder and tape. The aim of this study was to determine the knowledge and practice of dentists in Bandar Abbas, in the use of these materials. this is a cross sectional study. The sample size was 130 dentists in Bandar Abbas. Information collected by questionnaire and into knowledge and performance was divided. 11.53% of the participants had good knowledge, 47.7% moderate, 32.3% poor, and 8.47% were unaware. In the case of the use of denture adhesives, 21.54% have good performance, 64.62% average, and 13.84 were underperforming. According to the study, the dentist awareness of dental adhesive is weak, and education is essential.
