The extension of an EPQ model with rework process at a single-stage manufacturing system with planned backorders into a fuzzy case

An EPQ type inventory model with planed backorders in which production system produces defective items and each defective item can be repaired in the same cycle is considered in fuzzy situation. Defective rate of the products and the annual demand are fuzzified by employing triangular and trapezoidal fuzzy number. The difuzzified total inventory cost is derived by applying GMIR, a strong diffuzification method, and optimal policies are extracted. Numerical example is provided in order to testing the sensitiveness of the model and furthermore, the results of crisp and fuzzy model arecompared.
