Technical Assessment of Existing Forest Roads in Hyrcanian Forest (Darabkola, North of Iran)

This research surveyed some of the effective factors on planning and performance of forest roads network. Pay attention to, the important roles of roads in successive of forestry planning performance, accomplishment of this study was necessary. Darabkola forest was studied in this research with 7471 hectare areas that is situated in southeast of Sari city (North of Iran). Geology, lithology and pedology factors were considered more than the other parameters and the roads that passed of these regions were studied. Results of this research showed that considering soil mechanic, geology and lithology characteristic of study area, the length density 0106 m ha-0 and skidding distance average 232m were appropriate with existing standards therefore, the existing roads in study area assessed as appropriate.
