The relationship between self-efficacy and locus of control and mental health among psychology students

The study aimed to investigate the relationship between self-efficacy and locus of control and mental health among psychology students. Total amount of psychology students of Zanjan University in the academic year (1392-1393) was 180. Based on Morgan table 118 sample were selected stratified randomly (considering gender). To collect data 3 questionnaires including Rotter Locus of Control (1972), feeling self-injection (1982) and mental health scale (28-GHQ) were used. To analyze data, correlation coefficient, regression and t-test were made use of on independent groups. The findings showed that there is a significant positive relationship between the self-efficacy and locus of control and mental health and locus of control. Also, there is a significant negative relationship between self-efficacy and mental health. Furthermore, there is significant difference between male and female control source, however, there is no significant difference between self-efficacy and mental health and their gender. The regression results showed that self-efficacy has higher prediction ability for mental health. The researcher concluded that self-efficacy, locus of control and mental health are related.
