Education and changing cultural identity

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the quality of changes in cultural identity and the role of educational system in this area. The change of identity has attracted the attention of many of people, but the quality of creating these identity changes requires more consideration. The findings of this research indicate that the technologies and communicational media can lead to identity change in two ways in the developing societies; firstly, these technologies are culture- creator and result in creating a particular culture among their users. Secondly, a group of these technologies are the mass media which cause to the unprecedented development of communications and interactions among the individuals which lead to the elimination of factors of identity making in the separated societies, and can create a new identity in people by forming a global community. The entrance of these technologies and communicational media in educational system means to create the required environment for them. The present paper deals with this issue by descriptive- analytical method and based on the library resources. In this regard, first, it explains the concept of globalization and identity, and then deals with the quality of cultural identity changing and the role of educational system in this phenomenon.
