چکیده مقاله:
Background: Chronic wounds are highly susceptible to infection, leading to delayed healing and increased healthcare burden. Effective nursing interventions are vital for infection control and wound healing optimization. Aim: This study aimed to assess the role of structured nursing interventions in preventing infections in patients with chronic wounds. Methods: A prospective cohort study was conducted on patients with diabetic foot ulcers and pressure injuries. Nursing interventions included standardized wound assessment, aseptic dressing techniques, and patient education. Infection outcomes were monitored for ۱۲ weeks. Results: Patients who received structured nursing interventions showed a significant reduction in wound infection incidence and improved healing progression compared to baseline measurements. Conclusion: Structured and protocol-based nursing care plays a crucial role in preventing infections in chronic wound management. These findings support the integration of standardized nursing protocols into wound care practice.
