Predicting Financial Behavior Based on Personality Traits of Physicians and Dentists in Shiraz: A Comprehensive Meta-Analysis (۲۰۲۰-۲۰۲۵)

The financial behavior of healthcare professionals, particularly physicians and dentists, is a critical yet under-researched area within behavioral finance. This meta-analysis investigates the relationship between the Big Five personality traits and financial decision-making behaviors among medical practitioners in Shiraz, Iran. By synthesizing data from multiple empirical studies conducted between ۲۰۲۰ and ۲۰۲۵, we examine how traits such as conscientiousness, neuroticism, and extraversion predict financial prudence, risk tolerance, and investment patterns. A total of ۸ studies involving ۴,۹۲۶ participants were included. The results reveal that conscientiousness is the strongest positive predictor of financial prudence (pooled r = ۰.۳۳, p < ۰.۰۰۱), while neuroticism significantly correlates with impulsive financial behaviors and lower risk tolerance (pooled r = -۰.۲۷, p < ۰.۰۱). These findings suggest that personality-driven interventions could enhance the financial literacy and long-term stability of medical professionals in the region.
