چکیده مقاله:
In the era of globalization, English has emerged as the dominant global lingua franca, playing a significant role in facilitating intercultural communication, shaping translation practices, and influencing literary interpretation across diverse cultural contexts. As international interactions continue to expand in fields such as education, media, technology, diplomacy, and literature, English functions not only as a medium of communication but also as a cultural bridge connecting individuals from different linguistic backgrounds. This study examines the impact of English as a global lingua franca on intercultural communication, with particular attention to its role in translation studies and literary discourse. The paper further explores how the widespread use of English contributes to the transformation of cultural meanings, interpretive frameworks, and global literary circulation. While English promotes accessibility and international exchange, it also raises critical concerns regarding linguistic dominance, cultural homogenization, and the marginalization of local languages and identities. Through a critical and interdisciplinary perspective, the study highlights both the opportunities and challenges associated with the global influence of English in contemporary communication and literary studies.
