چکیده مقاله:

Historic urban fabrics are increasingly exposed to environmental hazards such as floods, earthquakes, climate change impacts, and urban pollution, which threaten their physical integrity, cultural identity, and social sustainability. This study examines the role of smart urban management systems in enhancing the resilience of historic urban areas against environmental risks. The research aims to identify how digital technologies, data-driven governance, and intelligent monitoring systems can contribute to the protection, adaptation, and sustainable management of historical districts. Using a descriptive-analytical approach and reviewing international experiences in smart urban resilience, the study evaluates the effectiveness of smart infrastructures, geographic information systems (GIS), sensor networks, and early warning mechanisms in reducing vulnerability and improving urban response capacity. The findings indicate that integrating smart management tools with heritage conservation strategies can significantly strengthen environmental resilience, improve crisis management, and support sustainable urban development. Furthermore, community participation and interdisciplinary governance are recognized as key factors in the successful implementation of resilient smart systems in historic contexts. The study concludes that smart urban management provides an effective framework for preserving historical urban fabrics while increasing their adaptability to contemporary environmental challenges.
