چکیده مقاله:

The Strait of Hormuz, a critical maritime choke point for global oil transit, represents a persistent source of geopolitical volatility with direct implications for international energy markets. This article analyzes the multifaceted impact of the recurring Hormuz crisis on the profit margins and pricing mechanisms of petroleum products within the Chinese market. It begins by establishing the geopolitical and economic context of the crisis, highlighting how regional tensions, sanctions, and military posturing translate into heightened risk premiums, increased insurance costs, and speculative price surges. The study then examines the operational and financial repercussions for China's refining sector, including state-owned and independent "teapot" refineries, focusing on margin compression, supply chain disruptions, and adaptive strategies such as hedging and technological upgrades. Furthermore, it evaluates the role of China's regulated petroleum pricing framework, managed by the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), in buffering domestic consumers from global shocks while simultaneously imposing "managed vulnerability" on refiners. Finally, the article explores China's strategic long-term responses, including pipeline diplomacy with Russia and Central Asia, accelerated investment in renewable energy, and the electrification of transport, as part of a broader paradigm shift toward energy security and reduced dependence on Hormuz. The findings indicate that while the Hormuz crisis imposes significant short-to-medium-term cost pressures on Chinese refiners and distorts domestic pricing stability, it also acts as a powerful catalyst for structural transformation, diversification, and technological innovation within China's energy system.
