چکیده مقاله:
Translation is an important means of cultural and communication exchange worldwide. This research analyzes the Persian translation of Earnest Hemingway's short story, The Snows of Kilimanjaro, using the Vinay and Darbelnet model. The study aims to determine whether direct or oblique translation strategies were employed and identify the most and least common procedures within the chosen taxonomy. The researcher collected ۱۲۰ samples to evaluate the data. Descriptive qualitative methods were used for data collection, including note-taking and text analysis. The results showed that the most prevalent procedure was transposition in oblique translation strategy, accounting for ۶۷% of translations. In contrast, the least used procedure was calque, with a percentage of ۰%. Other techniques, such as equivalence, modulation, adaptation, literal translation, and borrowing, had varying frequencies. The study's outcomes presented in charts and tables and hold implications for the field of translation, serving as a resource for future scholars.
