Symmetry Analysis of the Vibrating Plate Equation

In this paper, Lie symmetry analysis is applied to the nonlinear vibrating plate equation. The complete Lie symmetry algebra, which turns out to be twelve-dimensional, is determined. The one-parameter groups The algebraic structure of the symmetry algebra is analyzed in detail. It is shown to be solvable and non-nilpotent, admitting a nine-dimensional abelian ideal and a three-dimensional quotient subalgebra. The Levi decomposition of the algebra is discussed.
