(WEB۳ IDENTITY) DECENTRALIZED FUTURE

The current digital landscape is dominated by centralized identity systems that compromise on user privacy and security. With the Web undergoing a transition to its third generation-Web۳— there is an opportunity to redefine identity with decentralized technologies. This paper introduces a Web۳ identity platform powered by Privado ID (previously Polygon ID), a privacy-first identity infrastructure that allows users to own and authenticate their personal information without unveiling it. With decentralized identifiers (DIDs), verifiable credentials (VCS), and zero-knowledge proofs (ZKPS), the platform enables users to prove specific attributes—such as age or education- without sharing too much personal information. The new system implements the "Triangle of Trust," with three key roles: the Issuer, who issues credentials; the Holder, who holds and stores them in a digital wallet; and the Verifier, who requests attribute proof. Real-world application use cases include university admissions, age-restricted event entry, CEX onboarding, and even passport verification—all without compromising on user data. Issuers may be executed via APIs, SDKs, or smart contracts to enable flexible deployment. Verifiers are enabled through off-chain and on-chain proof validation, ensuring scalability and tamper- resistance. The platform is grounded in the SSI principles of user autonomy, selective disclosure, and privacy by default. It also anticipates future applications in decentralized AI agent identity (KYA) for guaranteeing trust and accountability in machine-to-machine interactions. This research provides a step-by-step blueprint for design and implementation of a privacy-first, decentralized identity solution. It demonstrates how Privado ID can balance regulatory compliance with individual liberty, ushering in an era of safer and sovereign digital identity.
