چکیده مقاله:
This study examines the challenges, strategies, and economic implications of reducing Iran’s dependence on the U.S. dollar in international trade. Employing a descriptive analytical qualitative design, secondary data were drawn from peer‑reviewed journals, reports by international organizations, and case studies of countries such as China, Russia, and ASEAN members, then analyzed through thematic content analysis. The findings reveal that de‑dollarization can broaden Iran’s trade partnerships with non-Western economies but is hindered by weak financial infrastructure, institutional misalignment, and geopolitical pressures. Strategic measures such as bilateral currency agreements, the development of non‑dollar payment systems, and the adoption of emerging financial technologies like blockchain and cryptocurrencies can facilitate this transition. Economically, de‑dollarization offers the prospect of long‑term monetary sovereignty and enhanced resilience to sanctions, although it may initially elevate transaction costs and exchange‑rate volatility. The study underscores that successful implementation requires gradual, coordinated planning to harness benefits including greater financial self‑sufficiency and deeper regional integration.
