چکیده مقاله:

Literature, as a distinct human phenomenon, reaches its fullest expression when understood in a global context, where diverse literary traditions intersect and influence one another. The field of comparative literature, which emerged in France during the late nineteenth century, has since expanded worldwide, including in Iran, where it has significantly contributed to the academic exploration of literary works. The study of literature traditionally unfolds through four central areas: Poetics or literary theory, Literary Criticism, Literary History, and Comparative Literature. For any national literature to be fully realized, these domains must be engaged in harmony. In Iran, literary history has been much dealt with, but the other areas require much more attention. One of the things that can be done in this regard is to draw the philosophies of these poets and introduce our poets as thinkers and philosophers within the global context of literary studies and criticism. Many of our poets, from classic to modern time, have been philosophers in addition to being poets, expressing their profound philosophical ideas through their poetry rather than through direct philosophical discourse. This article seeks to illuminate the unique philosophy of being that underlies Sohrab Sepehri's poetry, particularly in his poem The Oasis of the Moment. While references to his other works may be made, the primary focus is on this specific piece. The analysis argues that Sepehri’s philosophy of being is a deeply personal and singular vision—one that intertwines the poet's metaphysical reflections with the natural world, revealing a profound existential consciousness. In his union with nature, Sepehri discovers a profound essence that transcends material existence and affirms the interconnectedness of all things. Through a close reading of The Oasis of the Moment and other select poems, this article will provide evidences that Sepehri’s worldview is rooted in an intimate understanding of being, one that embraces the present moment and celebrates the unity of the self with nature. Far from merely poetic musings, these reflections reveal a coherent and personal philosophy of existence—one that seeks meaning not through abstract thought but through an embodied, lived experience of the world. Sepehri emerges, therefore, as not merely a poet, but a philosopher whose insights into being are subtly embedded within his verse, offering a unique and contemplative perspective on existence.
