چکیده مقاله:

Objective: The transition from the traditional paradigm of architecture based on physical form toward the design of interactive and digital spaces is one of the fundamental transformations of the current decade. The emergence of the metaverse as an ecosystem combining Extended Reality (XR), Artificial Intelligence, blockchain technologies, and the principles of the creative economy has revealed the necessity of redefining professional competencies in the field of spatial design. In this new context, the "metaverse architect" has emerged as an interdisciplinary role requiring the integration of spatial design knowledge, mastery of advanced digital tools, and a deep understanding of value-creation models in the digital economy. The present study aims to outline an educational pathway for nurturing this emerging specialization and to clarify its position within the future creative economy ecosystem. Method: The research methodology is based on a mixed-method (qualitative-quantitative) approach and consists of three main stages: a) Systematic review of scientific sources in Scopus and Web of Science databases (۲۰۱۹-۲۰۲۴) b) Comparative analysis of the curricula of leading global institutions (MIT Media Lab, Bartlett UCL, ETH Zurich) c) Development of a three-layer theoretical framework based on interdisciplinary learning and competency-based education. Findings: The findings indicate that an effective educational program for training metaverse architects must cover three synergistic dimensions: ۱) Fundamental principles of spatial design in virtual environments, ۲) Advanced technical skills including working with real-time rendering engines, XR platforms, and decentralized technologies, ۳) Understanding of in-world economic structures, token models, and ethical-legal considerations. Conclusion: The proposed model, developed based on the integration of project-based learning theories and competency-based frameworks, can serve as an operational template for designing graduate programs at the intersection of architecture and digital technologies.
