چکیده مقاله:

The question of whether artificial intelligence can attain consciousness is not only a central challenge in cognitive science and philosophy of mind, but also calls for a fundamental re-evaluation of modern epistemological frameworks. This paper argues that a comprehensive understanding of artificial consciousness requires completing a missing triangle—beyond the well-known methods of induction and deduction—by incorporating a third, often overlooked dimension rooted in Islamic intellectual traditions: intuitive and presence-based knowledge. Induction allows for empirical modeling, and deduction enables logical reasoning and structure. However, Islamic epistemology, particularly in philosophy and mysticism (ʿirfān), emphasizes metaphysical dimensions, the gradation of being, and the inner nature of the soul (nafs). These dimensions offer a deeper grasp of consciousness that cannot be reduced to neural activity or information processing alone. By framing a “triangular epistemology” composed of induction, deduction, and Islamic intuition, this article proposes a more balanced and holistic pathway to understanding both human and artificial consciousness. This integrative approach not only enriches models of artificial intelligence, but also opens new avenues for addressing ethical, philosophical, and ontological questions that arise at the intersection of spirituality and advanced technology.
