Concrete, as one of the primary materials used in the construction and structural industry, is composed of cement, sand, and aggregates. Among these components, aggregates form a sizable portion of the overall concrete mix. Riverbed sand and gravel are the most common types of aggregates used in concrete production; however, extracting these materials from riverbeds leads to the degradation of aquatic ecosystems and environmental harm. For this reason, the use of recyclable waste materials, such as steel, polymers, plastics, and glass, in concrete mixtures has gained attention from both economic and environmental perspectives. Waste glass, being one of the persistent pollutants in nature, remains in the environment for extended periods. One effective method of recycling waste glass is incorporating it into concrete, which can reduce the need for extracting materials from natural mines. The aim of this study is to investigate the feasibility of replacing a portion of natural riverbed aggregates with waste glass in concrete, which can contribute to better preservation of natural resources and a reduction in environmental pollution. In this research, a reference sample without waste glass was first prepared, its properties recorded, and then subjected to laboratory testing. Subsequently, waste glass was used as a partial replacement for natural aggregates in concrete at volumetric percentages of ۵%, ۱۰%, ۲۰%, ۲۵%, and ۳۰%. The results indicate that adding waste glass to the concrete mix enhances its workability. Furthermore, the compressive and flexural strength of the samples improves when waste glass is used up to a maximum of ۲۰% by volume. However, increasing the volumetric percentage beyond this threshold leads to a reduction in the strength of the concrete.
