چکیده مقاله:
Today, air pollution has become one of the main management challenges in different countries of the world, so that countries, in addition to domestic policies and measures, also pursue pollution regulation in the international arena. Undoubtedly, the production and increase of pollution is the result of the economic growth of countries. This issue can be expressed in the topic of environmental economics, in the form of the environmental Kuznets curve, in which the process of environmental degradation is explained according to the nature and different stages of economic growth. In this study, an attempt was made to examine the effect of economic growth on greenhouse gas emissions and air pollution in Afghanistan using panel data and annual figures for the period ۲۰۰۰-۲۰۲۰. Stata ۱۱ software was used to estimate the model. For this purpose, the effect of real GDP per capita, energy consumption per capita, the share of value added of the industrial sector in real GDP, and the value added of factory production per capita on the per capita emission of carbon dioxide gas (as the most important greenhouse gas) was estimated. The estimation results indicate the existence of an inverted U-shaped relationship between real GDP per capita and the rate of carbon dioxide gas emission per capita, confirming the Kuznets environmental theory in this country. Also, evidence shows that the variables of energy consumption per capita, the share of value added of the industrial sector in real GDP, and the value added of factory production have a positive effect on the per capita emission of carbon dioxide gas in this country.
