چکیده مقاله:
The sports and fitness service industry has undergone a substantial transformation over the past two decades, shifting from transactional engagement models toward more immersive, emotionally resonant brand-customer relationships. Traditional loyalty programs—structured around points, rewards, and repeat-purchase incentives—have long served as effective tools for customer retention. However, the rise of experiential marketing, emphasizing emotional engagement, personalization, and community integration, has redefined brand value creation in the sector. This review aims to provide a comprehensive analysis of the evolution from loyalty programs to experiential marketing in sports and fitness services, culminating in a proposed Integrated Brand Value Enhancement Framework that unites both paradigms. The study employed a systematic review methodology, synthesizing academic literature, industry reports, and illustrative case studies to evaluate the conceptual foundations, operational mechanisms, and performance outcomes of loyalty and experiential strategies. The review examined theoretical underpinnings such as Aaker’s brand equity model, Pine & Gilmore’s Experience Economy, and Self-Determination Theory, integrating insights from sports marketing, consumer psychology, and service design scholarship. In addition, case examples from global brands—including Nike Run Club, Les Mills, Barry’s Bootcamp, and Parkrun—offered empirical grounding and practical applications of theoretical constructs within diverse organizational contexts. Findings highlight that while loyalty programs excel at generating transactional engagement and collecting customer data, they often lack the emotional depth necessary for enduring brand affinity. Conversely, experiential marketing delivers intrinsic motivation, identity alignment, and community belonging but requires more substantial financial and operational investment, along with complex measurement approaches. The proposed integrated framework addresses these limitations by combining the data-driven retention capacity of loyalty programs with the emotional resonance of experiential marketing, structured around customer segmentation, hybrid reward systems, personalized experience curation, and digital-physical integration. The synthesis underscores several challenges for implementation—ranging from technological interoperability and resource constraints to organizational culture alignment, risk of over-commercialization, and ethical considerations regarding inclusivity and data privacy.
