Introducing Biosphere: An Inferential and Applied Approach to the Scientific Design of a New Competitive Sport

This study introduces a newly designed sport, conceptually derived from the multidisciplinary football family, based on logical reasoning and scientific principles. The primary objective of this research is to establish the theoretical and practical framework of a novel competitive game titled Biosphere, characterized by a distinctive playing field, innovative scoring methods, and unique regulations. The game is played between two teams of eight players each, within a specifically measured field divided into two symmetrical halves. Similar to volleyball, the match consists of five sets, and the team that wins three out of five sets is declared the winner. In each set, players attempt up to sixteen bicycle kicks toward the goal, with additional or penalty kicks determining the winner in the case of a tie. All passes between the two attacking players must also be performed using a bicycle kick technique, reinforcing the physical and tactical consistency of the sport. This applied and inferential research demonstrates how integrating elements from existing sports with newly formulated geometric, temporal, and scoring systems can create a balanced, dynamic, and aesthetically engaging sporting discipline.
