چکیده مقاله:

Marun oil field is one of the Giant oil fields in south west of Iran. It consists of Asmari and Bangestan reservoirs producing oil and Khami reservoircomprising mainly gas. One of the major problems of this field is thepollution of Asmari reservoir with Hydrogen Sulfide gas. Asmari reservoir is divided to ٨ sectors and Bangestan reservoir of this field is located in higher depth than Asmari reservoir and initially has been producing sour oiland gas since ١٩٧٢. Asmari reservoir of Marun oil field started producingsour hydrocarbon after ١٥ years of production at ١٩٨٠. The HydrogenSulfide pollution started from sector ٦ and is still spreading. Two possiblecauses of Asmari oil pollution with Hydrogen Sulfide gas and its spreadingare migration of oil from Bangestan reservoir and injection of sour gas. In this paper effect of sour gas injection on spreading of Asmari reservoir oilpollution was discussed via studying history of well souring, Hydrogen Sulfide concentration of wells and sour gas injection volume. The resultsshowed a similar decreasing trend in volume of injected sour gas and Hydrogen Sulfide concentration of wells. Moreover this study represented٢ absence of gas coning phenomenon for producing Hydrogen Sulfide gas. Finally this study demonstrated the strong effect of sour gas injection on pollution of oils with Hydrogen Sulfide and its spreading in Asmari reservoir of Marun oil field.
