Synthesis and Characterization of A New Complex with Schiff Base Ligand Containing NO Donor Atoms

A new Schiff base ligand with NO donor atom was synthesized and characterized. Furthermore, its platinum complex was synthesized through the reaction of the Schiff base ligand with PtCl۲(DMSO)۲ in ۱:۱ molar ratio. The molar conductance data for platinum complex showed that the complex was non-electrolyte. The Schiff base ligand and its complex showed photoluminescence properties in DMSO solution at room temperature. The synthesized Schiff base ligand and its complex were characterized by different spectroscopy methods such as FT-IR, ۱H NMR, UV-Vis spectroscopy, elemental analysis and conductometry.
