چکیده مقاله:

Urban population growth and the decreasing availability of developable land have intensified the need for underground spaces in civil engineering projects. Deep excavations in urban areas pose significant technical and stability challenges, which can be effectively addressed through numerical modeling and engineering approaches. This study investigates soil arching and the resulting redistribution of lateral stresses to structural elements, showing that its activation reduces wall pressures, enhances system safety, and lowers construction costs. The influence of tieback arrangement on the magnitude of soil arching is also examined, emphasizing the importance of optimizing these parameters to ensure excavation stability. The findings provide engineers with practical guidance for the design and execution of deep excavation projects, contributing to improved safety and reduced structural risks.
