چکیده مقاله:
The performance of steel fiber-reinforced concrete under freeze-thaw cycles is of significant importance for structures in harsh environmental conditions, such as cold regions. This study reviews the impact of steel fibers on the durability and stability of concrete under repeated freezing and thawing cycles. The results of research indicate that the use of steel fibers reduces permeability, controls micro-cracking, and enhances the mechanical strength of concrete under these conditions. Furthermore, fiber characteristics, such as volume fraction, length, aspect ratio, and their distribution within the concrete matrix, directly influence the concrete's performance. Studies have shown that combining steel fibers with other materials, such as recycled rubber, nanoparticles, or mineral additives, can improve concrete behavior and increase its resistance to damage caused by freeze-thaw cycles. However, challenges such as uneven fiber distribution and potential reductions in fresh concrete performance remain. This study, while reviewing recent achievements in the use of steel fibers, presents strategies for optimizing the design of concrete resistant to freeze-thaw cycles, which could contribute to the development of sustainable and durable materials for civil infrastructure.
