چکیده مقاله:

Intergenerational changes refer to the transfer of physiological and genetic traits from one generation to another and can have profound effects on the health and diseases of future generations. Studying these changes allows scientists to better understand how behaviors and environmental factors such as diet can influence future generations and offer strategies to improve public health and prevent diseases. Diet, as a significant environmental factor, plays a crucial role in these intergenerational changes. Food compounds and nutrient intake can directly and indirectly impact epigenetic mechanisms, causing changes in the genome that are passed on to future generations. These impacts can either improve or exacerbate diseases and health conditions in future generations. Epigenetics focuses on studying changes in gene expression without altering the DNA sequence. These changes involve mechanisms such as DNA methylation, histone modifications, and the activity of non-coding RNAs. These mechanisms can be influenced by environmental factors such as diet and can be passed on to future generations. Therefore, diet not only affects the health of the individual consuming it but can also impact the health of future generations.
