Background and Objective: The role of nutritional supplements in child nutrition The right to food is one of the fundamental rights of every individual. One of the fundamental and important rights of every individual is the right to nutrition. Every man, woman and child has the right to be free from hunger and malnutrition, to develop their physical and mental talents, and to know that governments have the obligation, in addition to working individually and separately, to cooperate with each other to produce more food and distribute food more effectively and appropriately between and within countries. Good nutrition during childhood is one of the essential factors in a child's healthy physical and mental development. Method: The research method was qualitative and the library data collection method was selected. Findings: In some cases, children's nutritional needs are not met through food and nutritional supplements may be used as a solution to compensate for deficiencies. In some cases, children may not be able to get all the nutrients they need from their diet. Reasons such as malnutrition, dietary restrictions, and diseases or digestive problems can lead to vitamin and mineral deficiencies. In these situations, nutritional supplements may be an option to compensate for these deficiencies. Conclusion: This article discusses the role of nutritional supplements in children's nutrition, the benefits and possible risks of their use, and their standardization and legality. Incorrect or excessive use, or even substandard use of nutritional supplements, can pose serious risks or even poisoning.
