چکیده مقاله:
More than a quarter of children diagnosed with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) also struggle with anxiety disorders. This article focuses on reviewing current knowledge about the coexistence of ADHD and anxiety in children, identifying key factors that contribute to anxiety development in those with ADHD, and discussing future research directions and clinical strategies for prevention and early detection. It is believed that specific ADHD-related traits—such as low effortful control and emotional instability—along with social difficulties like weak relationships with parents, teachers, and peers, can create a negative cycle that increases the risk of anxiety in certain children with ADHD. Existing studies highlight the connection between these behavioral and interpersonal factors. A deeper understanding of these interactions can help identify children with ADHD who are more likely to develop anxiety, leading to more effective prevention, evaluation, and treatment methods for this group.
