The aimof this study is to assess the effect of sufficient and insufficientlevels of vitamin E in the treatment of infertile PCOS women.Materials and Methods: In this clinical trial, ۱۴۴ PCOS infertilepatients referred to Dr. Rasekh clinic, Jarom, Iran thatrandomly divided into two groups (groups with sufficient andinsufficient levels). Each of these two groups was randomlydivided into case and control groups (۳۶ participants in eachgroup). Usual drug regimen of PCOS started for all groups(Metformin and dydrogesterone). Case groups received vitaminE supplementation as an add-on their treatment. Data collectionperformed via questionnaires by midwives and statisticalanalysis by SPSS ۲۱.Results: There was a significant relationship between follicularsize and use of vitamin E (P<۰.۰۵). Increased endometrialthickness and reduced BMI detected in using vitamin E group. The overall pregnancy rate was twenty women (۶۶.۷%) whichrelated to the using vitamin E groups. Conclusion: Vitamin E has a positive effect on the treatment ofPCOS patients. Although the response to the treatment is betterin patients with insufficient vitamin E levels, prescription ofthis vitamin in patients with sufficient vitamin E level is alsoeffective. According to rare side effects related to this vitamin, its low cost and low toxicity, we recommend adding the dailyuse of vitamin E to drug regimen of infertile PCOS patients.
