چکیده مقاله:

The reliability-based design method, which considers the uncertainty of loads and resistances toquantitatively solve the safety problems in structural engineering, providing a framework forreasonably solving structural safety design problems. Hence, its supply a formal framework for settingspecific limits of acceptable performance and developing criteria, for design which insure that theprobability of undesired performance is acceptably small. In this study a reliability-based designcriterion is developed for SMRF considering the local data and design practice in Iran. Dead, live andearthquake loads are considered for failure modes of story drift ratio in each performance levels.Reliability analyses have using by RTx program to considering uncertainties and OpenSees tomodeling nonlinearity of structures. The results revealed that probability of failure are markedlysmaller than the targets set by the original standards the Iranian code has adopted from, which exposesthe notable lack of safety in the ensuing designs
