چکیده مقاله:

In this paper, we have analyzed the magneto-optic (MO) effects in three layer surface plasmon polariton (SPP) slab waveguides in a longitudinal configuration that the appliedmagnetic field is parallel to the interfaces and the wave propagation direction. Insulator-metal-insulator (IMI) configuration with dielectric or metal ferromagnetic layers isanalyzed. Because of the coupling between SPP modes, there are all components of the electromagnetic field, therefore, wedo not have purely TM modes in this configuration. We have shown a transverse magnetic (TM) to transverse electric (TE)SPP mode conversion in this anisotropic waveguide. Because of the long propagation length, this configuration could be used todesign elements, such as isolators and modulators in photonic integrated circuits (PICs). The metal-insulator-metal (MIM) configuration with high confinement has been previously investigated and here we are focused on the insulator-metalinsulator (IMI) structures.
