چکیده مقاله:

From identifying the cause of death to determining the time and manner of a crime, histology plays a crucial role in investigating and solving criminal cases. In forensic medicine, several techniques are employed to ensure accurate analysis, for example use of hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) staining and Immunohistochemistry. Forensic experts can determine the cause of death and the severity and extent of injuries, as well as the possible weapon used, by examining tissue samples for abnormalities and changes that may lead to a person's death. While histology is a powerful tool in forensic medicine, it does have its limitations and challenges. One primary challenge is the degradation of tissue samples over time. Overcoming these limitations and addressing the challenges is essential for the continued progress and reliability of forensic histology. Numerous case studies demonstrate the significance of histology in forensic medicine. One notable example is the identification of tissue samples in cases of sexual assault.
