چکیده مقاله:
In this paper, a specified designed and constructed apparatus has been employed for an experimental investigation on the hydrodynamic behavior of a viscous liquid spray. The pressure at the upstream of the nozzle orifice during the experimental tests decreases sharply. Whereas the pressure at the downstream of the nozzle orifice remains constant and is equal to the pressure of the ambient atmosphere. Therefore, the liquid spray demonstrates an unsteady behavior during the experimental tests. A high-speed camera with two LED projectors have been employed for taking experimental shots from the unsteady behavior of the liquid spray. The experimental shots have been processed by an image processing technique. The experimental shots and their image-processed results have been analyzed for investigating the unsteady behavior of the viscous liquid spray. Atomization quality of the viscous liquid spray has been also analyzed at each instant of experimental shot of the spray plume. Experimental results show that sharp reduction of the injection pressure results in sharp decreasing of the spray angle and sharp decreasing of quality of the spray atomization
