The current study was set to investigate whether there was a statistically significant correlation between the reported reading anxiety level and reading strategy use of Iranian pre-intermediate level EFL learners. Fifty Iranian EFL students who were selected through convenience sampling participated in this study. Two instruments were used in the current study. The first instrument was a questionnaire designed by Saito, Horwitz and Gorzo (۱۹۹۰) which was administered to investigate the participants' level of reading anxiety. The second questionnaire was SORS which was designed by Sheory and Mokhtari, (۲۰۰۱) to examine the participants' reported reading strategy use. Ther esults of the Pea rson Product Moment correlation analysis between the Reading Anxiety andReading S trat egy use demonstrated a significant relationship ( r = ۰ ۴۲۲) with a p value of ۰.۰۰۰ .The findings of this study are expected to provide valuable insights for English teachers and materials developers as to recognize the importance of the relationship between EFL learners’ anxiety level and reading strategy use in language classes.
