چکیده مقاله:

The effect of soil-structure interaction (SSI) has often been neglected in seismic design and retrofit of structures in the past. Soil-structure interaction can have a major influence on the seismic response of buildings founded on soft soils. If it is not accounted for in the analysis, the SSI can cause erroneous interpretation of recordings in such buildings. In order to consider the SSI effect on single degree of freedom (SDOF), the SDOF system must be replaced with an equivalent system which has higher hysteretic damping ratio and less natural frequency. In addition, Near-fault ground motions have notable characteristics such as long period pulse type velocity time histories and acceleration time histories with high frequency content. These specifications of near-fault earthquake records make structural responses to be different from those expected in far-fault earthquakes. In this study the effects of soil-structure interaction and near-fault earthquakes with fling step effects on the dynamic response of equivalent SDOF system have been investigated
