چکیده مقاله:

Adolescence as a period of transition from childhood to adulthood is associated with many physical, psychological and cognitive changes, which in turn provides the basis for behavioral disorders such as aggression. Aim: The aim of this study was to determine the effect of group schema therapy on anxiety and rumination of aggressive adolescents. Method: The present study was carried out by quasi-experimental method using control group and pre-test-post-test. The statistical population of the study included aggressive adolescents who were referred to medical-counseling centers in Shahrood in ۲۰۲۰-۲۰۲۱. In order to conduct this study, ۳۰ aggressive adolescents were selected by available sampling method and randomly assigned to experimental and control groups; Then, the subjects in the experimental group underwent group therapy for ۱۰ sessions according to Young's treatment schema model. Both groups completed the Anxiety Inventory (Beck et al, ۱۹۸۸) and Mental Rumination Response Scale (Nolen-Hoeksema and Morrow, ۱۹۹۱) in two stages of pre-test and post-test. At the end, the results were compared between the two groups using analysis of covariance. Results: After performing a group schema intervention, the level of anxiety and mental rumination of aggressive adolescents in the experimental group was significantly reduced; Therefore, the research hypothesis that the effect of group schema therapy on reducing the level of anxiety and mental rumination of aggressive adolescents is confirmed. Conclusion: In order to reduce the level of anxiety and mental rumination of aggressive adolescents, group schema therapy can be used as one of the effective treatment approaches in counseling centers.
