چکیده مقاله:

People with visual impairments face many problems as a result of various disabilities during development and often need educational intervention to learn basic skills. The aim of this Study was to investigate the effect of ۸ weeks of Traband and dynamic exercises on balance, Proprioception, range of motion and strength of neck and elbow muscles in blind children. In this applied study, ۲۲ absolutely blind children living in Hamedan city were selected and randomly divided into two equal groups, Traband exercises (n = ۱۱) and Dynamic exercises (n=۱۱). Exercises of the two experimental groups were performed for ۸ weeks, three sessions per week and ۶۰ minutes each session. Dynamic exercises were derived fromJeffrey exercises and in these exercises, Swiss ball was used and continued from stable to unstable level. In Traband exercises, first the yellow stretch, which is the lightest stretch in terms of resistance, was used, and then in the next sessions, according to the principle of overload and the physical condition of the subjects, red, green and blue stretches were used, respectively. To measure dynamic balance, Proprioception of knee, neck and elbow range of motion, flexor and extensor muscles of the neck and elbow, Y, electrogoniometer, goniometer and dynamometer tests were used, respectively. Descriptive statistics and inferential statistics including Kolmograph-Smirnov test, dependent and independent t-test in SPSS software were used to analyze the data. Significant level was taken P <۰.۰۵.The results of the present study showed that in the Traband group, the strength of flexor and extensor muscles of the neck and elbow and the range of motion of the elbow increased significantly. In the dynamic training group, the variables of balance, proprioception, elbow range of motion and neck flexor muscle strength increased significantly. In comparison between the two groups, except for the variable range of motion of the neck, a significant difference was observed between the two groups in the other variables. The results showed that dynamic exercises were more effective in improving balance and proprioception, while Traband exercises had a significantly better effect on neck and elbow muscles.
