چکیده مقاله:

One of the most important issues in the success of championship is the close relationship between psychological and physical factors. Flow experience and mental well-being is an important dimension of mental health, which along with somatotypes measurement can ensure the success of the athlete. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between flow experience and mental well-being, based on the somatotype profile of athletes in different sports. In this descriptive - correlational study, ۱۶۵ male athletes [۴۵ Weightlifters (aged ۲۶.۱ ±۲ years, BMI ۲۹.۲±۱.۱ kg/m۲ and %BF ۲۶/۵۹ ±.۷۶), ۷۵ Soccer Players (aged ۲۹.۲ ±۵ years, BMI ۲۲.۴±۱ kg/m۲ and %BF ۲۴/۴۳ ±.۶۴), and ۴۵ Cross-Country Runners (aged ۲۷.۴ ±۳ years, BMI ۱۸.۱۹±۱ kg/m۲ and %BF ۲۱/۳۸ ±.۳۸)] in Isfahan were selected by using available sampling method. Somatotypes features including; Height, weight, muscle mass (BMI) and body fat percentage (%BF) were measured with ISAK equipment s. Furthermore, to evaluating variables, were used Flow (Martin and Jackson, ۲۰۰۸) and Mental Well-Being Questionnaires (Keyes and Magyarmo, ۲۰۰۳). Data were analyzed using Pearson correlation coefficient and Multivariate regression tests. The results showed that the scores of flow experience and mental well-being are predictable based on the somatotype profile of athletes in different sports (p<۰.۰۵). In addition, a significant relationship was observed between flow experience and mental well-being (p<۰.۰۵). These findings indicate that flow experience and mental well-being can be associated with somatotype and success in various sports. Therefore, it is recommended that coaches, athletes and sports officials use these indexes to improve performance and develop mental skills.
