Photodegradation of methylene bl ue using -doped nano structures prepared by microw ave irradiation method

Semiconductor photocatalysts have been a pot ential field for treating various water pollutants [۱]. Among thephotocatalysts,ZnO is a very attractive semiconductor phot ocatalyst. Major limitation to a chieve high photocatal ytic efficien cy is the qu ick recombination of photo-generated charge ca rries. Doping is a powerful way to e nhance the separation of charge carries in semicond uctor p hotocatalyst[۲]. Microw ave irradiat ion is beco ming an increasingly po pular method forpreprat ion of n anostructures [۳]. In this work, we have prepared Sb- doped ZnO nanostruct ures in water by microwave irradiation m ethod and e ffects of some operational parameters on phot ocatalytic ac tivity o f them wer e investigated.
