Evaluation of depression in women with a history of domestic violence

Objective: The aim of this study was to review the depressive disorder in women with a history of domestic violence from various domestic and foreign sources in the past few years.Methods: The present research method was a library review. Thus, the keywords of depression, women, domestic violence in the search engines of Persian articles bank include Scientific Information Database, Noormags, Magiran and Civilica and foreign articles bank including Google Scholar, PubMed, Springer, Science Direct and Scopus was searched between ۲۰۰۰ and ۲۰۲۱, and selected articles were entered for this study.Results: Research findings indicate numerous studies by domestic and foreign researchers on the subject of depressive disorder. The results showed that depression is one of the most common mental disorders in women with a history of domestic violence.Conclusion: It seems that women with a history of domestic violence are more likely to have depression than other women.
